Lunar Realty new real estate business in Aberdeen South Dakota

Danelle McMaster is no stranger to real estate.

She spent 15 years in Aberdeen in a few agencies. Now she has opened her own business, Lunar Realty.

Before moving to Aberdeen, McMaster lived in Fargo, North Dakota, where she ran an office that employed 120 people.

This is where his interests lie.

“I come from a management background so the transition to running my own office has been very easy,” said McMaster.

“I’m used to dealing with people and running the show. I like it.”

It took 10 years to start his own business. In 2011, McMaster obtained his brokerage license. She was planning to open her own agency, but this was delayed after her husband was diagnosed with cancer.

“I kind of took a step back and waited for a better time, which is now,” McMaster said.

Now she can be a responsible broker for her agents. This means that McMaster will hold the contracts for the properties and be responsible for the actions of his agency’s agents.

Since starting the new agency on July 1, McMaster has yet to add any real estate agents. But, that’s about to change.

In his new office space at 200 First Ave. SW, McMaster has six offices for realtors and expects to fill them. With his hires, McMaster hopes to take a teaching and mentoring approach to his business.

“I really want to recruit new agents. I look forward to mentoring agents and helping people get started in this industry. My passion is to help people get started and to teach. I like the educational aspect, that’s for sure, ”she said.

To become a real estate agent, you have to take a course – online or in person – then pass a licensing exam and eventually find a responsible broker to work with.

“I love it. I love coming here everyday and having it mine,” said McMaster

She does her best to stand out in the industry.

“I really try to stand out and make sure that when people see me they know who I am and what I’m doing, and you do it with your face all over the place,” McMaster said. “So I do a lot of online branding and (I’m looking) to go digital with video and that sort of thing. “
