Phoenix-based commercial real estate firm ViaWest Group is opening an office in Denver. The company owns and manages nearly 7 million square feet in the Phoenix metro area and is recognized as one of the region’s leading commercial real estate companies. The location of the office has yet to be determined, but according to a company representative, it will likely be somewhere in the downtown central business district.

Tom Glissmeyer of ViaWest Group will oversee the Denver office as market leader for the Mountain West region. Tom will be responsible for sourcing development and investment opportunities in Colorado and Utah and executing pending development deals in Arizona. This includes formulating ViaWest’s investment strategy, as well as researching and structuring debt and equity. Additionally, Tom manages the financial analysis, compensation process and oversees all community relations efforts in the region.

“There are exciting real estate opportunities in Denver and the Mountain West area in general. The quality of life Colorado offers is phenomenal, it’s very diverse and has strong fundamentals, and like the work/life balance plays an increasingly important role in today’s world, there is no doubt that the state will continue its recent growth trends,” says Glissmeyer. “I am excited to lead development efforts and ViaWest’s investment in the Mountain West region Colorado has always
been ‘home’ and I’m delighted to return.

“We are excited about our expansion into the Colorado market, which will include coverage of Salt Lake City. This office, together with our Phoenix and Los Angeles offices, enables ViaWest to more actively and effectively source and manage real estate acquisitions and developments in the Southwest and West,” said Steven Schwarz, founding partner of ViaWest Group. “We look forward to expanding our geographic reach with our funding partners and building on our entire platform.”
