Unbranding

I’ve decided to unbrand myself.
That is to be open, authentic, and real. It is no fun being who you’re not, or setting up a false front or creating a character and then trying to live up to.
Given that a major topic that I speak on my blog is on stress-free living, I’ve found that being presenting truth as it is helps remove tons of worries that may potentially appear out of nowhere.
Here are some of the noticeable updates made to this site that reflects more of my real-world personality:
Update #1: Unlabeled myself.
The last couple of logos that I had on this blog had labels on it. I didn’t liked them as it seems inconsistent to the domain name of the site. I happened to find my Wacom pen tablet lying around my cupboard last Friday, and plugged it into my netbook and did a quick signature just for fun. After messing around for another 5 minutes in getting my signature to look right, I added in some text and … voila, I’ve got me an amazing logo that is consistent and fits with the overall theme of simplicity.
Update #2: Wrote an unfabricated My Story page.
I had procrastinated writing my own about me page for years, as I feared that I was someone not interesting to begin with. Well, I had wanted to erase my past and had looked upon those memories in a negative perspective. However, I sucked at acting as though nothing had ever happened. Hence, I decided to put my story out as it is. The results? All is good; the world goes on as normal. :)
Update #3: Removed comments.
Receiving comments on this blog has been on of the things I’ve always been looking forward to every time a new article is posted. It’s like receiving presents from friends on Christmas day. Given that most readers here don’t post comments (I too, rarely comment on all the blogs I’m following today), I’ve decided to make space to the blog design, respecting friends and readers time and not pressuring anyone into commenting by leaving out the comments section. I’m contactable on the major social media sites (eg: Facebook, Twitter, and StumbleUpon) and of course, via email. But really, I’m a person who is quiet in nature—the bigger the crowd, the more withdrawn I am.
Update #4: Wrote an eBook.
I’ve wrote and published my first ebook titled: Breaking the Gambling Addiction. Writing the ebook wasn’t that hard once I’ve decided to keep it real—it’s based on a true story (my experience).
But of course, I’m not unbranding this blog so that I could flood it with unrelated articles. I can’t build loyalty without focus and consistency. This blog will continue covering topics on Personal Productivity, Getting Things Done, Minimalism, Art of Simplicity, Motivation and Stress-free Living.
So … like same for what I’ve done when this blog is made uncopyright, I’m announcing that the unbranding starts today.
