You are a success, a star, and a grandeur of magnificent wonder!
I hope that you have dreamed of becoming a success, or do great stuff, breaking barriers of limitation, and get better at what you love and are doing.
While there are times that you may have doubted yourself or others have said that you aren’t going to be anyone useful… yeah you can ignore those doubters.
The truth be told — you are a huge success.
And I’ve got 20 solid reasons for you on why you are one.
“Men are born to succeed. Not fail.”
~ Henry David Thoreau
Your 20 reasons on why you are a huge success!
I hope by the end of this article, you will be greatly empowered and become an even graeter success that you’ve seen yourself to be! Here are your 20 reasons:
Success #1: You have the motivation
You already have the drive to see things started… and many of you have the motivation to see things through till completion.
If you don’t feel that you have the motivation needed, maybe you would want to read up The Essential Motivation Handbook (aff) to grab the very essentials of your motivation needs.
Success #2: You have the abilities, skills, and talents
Most readers here have their closet superhero abilities to do huge damage (in a good way), such as painting, elite guitar playing, awesome writing, even awesome copywriting, problogging… put them into play and you’ll do amazing work with your talents — and build up the community while you’re at it!
Success #3: You can translate thoughts into action
I’m not talking about the law of attraction, but you know that there are things which you need to get done in order to turn thoughts into reality.
You know how to think (of the outcome), plan (break down “the big picture” into easier goals), build a strategy that works, and take massive action!
Success #4: You know that potential is not everything
Potential is only dormant until you get working on it. You already have the potential. Hence right now you just gotta get working on it, get the results, and build up your affirmation, and voila! Then continue with the next goal and reach a higher level.
Success #5: You can get things done!
Remember the times that you have finished up a project in school, and submitted it with a huge sigh of relief? Yeah, it was school that time. Now that you are an entrepreneur, your livelihood depends on getting things done.
Either you choose to get things done, or else just throw it away. I’d rather choose the former and then go on to the next project. How about you?
Success #6: You ain’t a doubter
NEVER doubt yourself! Your time is too precious to be wasted on doubting yourself. Instead, choose to shift your energy focus to productivity, fun, and engaging with people who really matters to you.
Success #7: You don’t fear losing
Timothy Ferriss wrote an article on The Practicality of Pessimism, that mentioned on living the life that you had feared living if things go wrong.
Apparently, after going though those tougher times, you’ll eventually find out that it is possible to get back up from a life that you had feared.
Success #8: You know how to balance work and life
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” and the opposite would be, “all play and no work makes Jack blow himself up”.
Although the latter doesn’t sound right at all (you can help me out with a better line by adding it in the comments!), you know that having too much of either one is totally unhealthy for your soul.
Life is not all about work. That’s why we have the concept of lifestyle design where you will get to create your own work-life balance by building up on your passive income stream to fund the lifestyle that you desired.
You can create income and do the things you love — you can have them both.
Success #9: You handle procrastination well
Procrastination is not all that bad after all. The word by its own definition is simply to delay.
There are stuff which are critical to be done today (I call it the life-and-death situation stuff), while almost everything else can be put off for tomorrow or for days scheduled for batching.
Success #10: You are resourceful
Here’s one nifty trick to test how resourceful you are:
Remember when a friend calls you up and asking you for some directions, information, or even “How-To” stuff… and you promptly went onto Google on your Blackberry (Crack-berry) or iPhone with your 3G access (that’s if you are outside — PC’s when you are in the comfort of your own home) to grab the information and respond in less than 2 minutes flat?
If you have that sort of experience before, you know you are a resourceful person.
Success #11: You handle distractions well
There’s almost always a dozen and one things that calls out for your attention every minute! Like checking your email, checking the voicemail, checking your mobile messages, checking the Internet for some information required for work… and too many distractions around that wants to grab you away from the work that you were doing.
Like a productivity ninja, you handle distractions well. Know when you can have some fun and surf the web for your favorite productivity blogs, and know when to put focus into your work.
Success #12: You can delay gratification
Successful people like you already know the hard truth that the beginning is always the hardest — early gratification helps no man. But you’ll get past that stage and enjoy the fruits of your labor together with improving your work.
Success #13: You know that the end result is as important as the process
Many others dream of their end goal without putting much effort to get it started. Some want to do huge things for fame and fortune that they forgotten to acquire the skills and experience that will take them from Day 0 to launch smoothly. They just want the end results without going through the process.
You are different. You know that while it is important to visualize the outcome, you know that you’ll have to focus on getting the plans established, and go through the process from start through the rest of the stages until completion.
Success #14: You initiate
The best way to save time is to be the one who initiates and proposes ideas. Not everyone wants to be seen as the “leader” or the one who gives suggestions.
By being the one who initiates, you will help make the transition from stagnating to become a productive group!
Success #15: You know that difficulties are part and parcel of your journey
There’s bound to be difficulties somewhere in your journey in life. Maybe you weren’t born into a high net-worth family, or perhaps you stutter or are an introvert, perhaps you had met with a sudden loss of income and got into a huge debt that it seemed almost impossible to get out of.
Many people share the similar experiences and difficulties somewhere along the route. Even if it was a minor hiccup, you know that they are just part and parcel of your journey. Let’s take it as though it was a one-off season that you can build yourself up once again to become a success.
Success #16: You built strong trust and relationships
Some saying goes, “It’s not what you know, but who you know.”
True to a certain extend. You know that greatness is just 6 degrees apart, and that to reach there you’ll have to start reaching out to your friend.
But nevertheless, this point isn’t all about networking — it is about executing being you, being authentic, participating in the community, being a trust agent… building strong relationships with those you meet and helping them when in need is your forte.
Success #17: You are persuasive
Being persuasive doesn’t mean that you have supernatural jedi-mind power to control and manipulate someone’s decision. However, persuasion in reality is something that all of us are already doing everyday — that is to make a conversation pleasant, turn someone’s indecision to a choice that will benefit him, keeping peace and setting the pace of a discussion.
Success #18: You have an entrepreneurial mindset
The word entrepreneurial in this context means, being able to create value for others, making a living out of your talents and abilities… or like how lifestyle designer Chris Guillebeau had said in his latest article on entrepreneurship, “everyone who takes responsibility for their own life is effectively an entrepreneur”.
Success #19: You have proper risk / energy management
You know that you need to have a proper monetary risk and also to manage your energy level such that you can accomplish and master your trade stress-free.
You know when exactly to stop loss or rest to rejuvenate your energy levels to get you going at peak state!
Success #20: You have a healthy level of confidence
Confidence is a game changer. You would neither go beyond over-confidence — which would make a person complacent — nor have lack of any hint of confidence that a person would not get things started at all.
A healthy level of confidence allows you to implement your plans, getting your project from infant stage and onwards to the next, and so on. Hence making you a huge success every single day as you accomplish the things which you’ve started.
