I’ve realized that it had been a week since I had done any new posts up on this site! Looks like I’ve mastered an art of not getting things done for the week.
Well, here’s what I had been doing instead of writing for this blog during the past 7 days.
1. Checking out my stats
Blog statistics I mean. Yeah, after boasting a good daily views of about a thousand consecutively for a couple of days, I wonder what will happen to the view count and subscriber count if I stop writing for a week.
It grew by only 2000 page views after these 7 days, while subscriptions increased by 6, and got about 23 new follows on Twitter.
2. Commenting on other blogs
I follow about 58 blogs with my Google Reader, and have been commenting on most of the cool stuff that they have written. It takes time to construct comments - regardless how casual sounding my comments may be; yes, I read through everything that’s interesting.
3. Working on blogs
I run another site: Winning Everyone. It was closed for the past 4 days as I was tweaking the technical part of the site, updating it with relevant plug-ins, changing the CSS codes, added in a drop down menu effect using jQuery, and creating an inspiring banner and teaser page for the site.
After which, I adopted some of the neat features from there and implemented it here.
By the way, have you noticed that I’ve changed the color theme from an entirely red scheme to a mix of green and red? Doesn’t look too intimidating now.
4. Fall sick
I was down with a minor flu for 2 days, which became a slight fever, but it got better until yesterday when I was caught in the rain after a long 26 hours day outside.
Not to worry, I’m doing alright now and that’s why I’m back here writing away.
5. Reading a new book
I’ve bought a cool book titled: The Leadership Secrets of Billy Graham (Kindle version here
). It’s about the leadership side of the well known Evangelist and how he handled business administration in the highest standards, while too growing a strong team that he had been working with for decades since the beginning of his ministry.
I told a couple of my friends that I would be able to finish the book in 3 days, but I’m taking my time with this as I totally enjoyed every single page of this book on Billy Graham.
6. Outings
I went out to catch up with my friends for dinner when I had the time. Not that I have many outings, but getting one day off and spend it outside with a good meal helps to keep one morale up.
7. Article planning
I’m planning to write a few titles which was supposed to be posted up… 7 days ago! Yeah right.
There’s supposed to be 3 entries (in the 2 blogs that I’m running) that should have been written days back already. However, I ended up writing this post instead.
I’m just pulling your leg.
I had always wanted to get one post up for an anti-productivity category that I had thought of placing it up here on this blog. So, there you have it!
8. Soliciting for subscriptions
During these 7 days, one of the days was spent on sending out emails to gain subscribers for my other blog. It had reached 60 as of today. I probably should do the same for this site too!
That sums up my week
Now you guys get to know what I’ve been up to and those too are the reasons to why nothing was accomplished on this blog.
Oh, if you guys have noticed, there’s actually some new changes to this site. The two main things done here were the inclusion of advertisements and the new menubar! You now too can get to make money online with me from the site here too (hint hint: check out the menu area with the words “Make Money” *smiles*)!
Those updates were done today in fact. Right after the week of total non-productivity in relation to this site.
I wonder… How was your week then? :)
Time to solicit for more subscriptions! Care to subscribe today?
